'Classic.' A book which people praise and don't read.
---Mark Twain
This quote made me a little sad. I love reading classics! Please post the last classic you read or your favorite classic book that you HAVE read. I want to prove that this quote is wrong. So, please reply and show me that this quote is wrong. What is my favorite classic read you ask?
It's the Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle. I love this book. I also enjoy Jane Austen, Lewis Carroll and many others. My FIVE year old loves Moby Dick so.... yeah, we read classics in this house. I won't even get started on my husband... he has read a TON of classics. So, what have you read?

I've read tons of classics! Alice in Wonderland and through the looking Glass. Jane Austen. Many of Mark Twain's books! Hubs and I read Frankenstein together, and really enjoyed that one.
I think in Twain's quote, he was generalizing maybe a bit too much. But during his time, there were probably more people who hadn't read classics, yet praised them because they were the classics. I could be wrong, but that would be my guess. I do hope today that quote doesn't hold true.
Oh! Frankenstein!! Yes, that's another wonderful book. Love it!! :)
I love Pride and Prejudice. Also, Catcher in the Rye. Both books are some of my favorites in general. :]
