Review: A normal day in Evie's life involves wearing the color pink, watching teenage drama TV shows, talking to her best friend, who is also a mermaid, and capturing paranormals to take them back to the top secret government agency she works for, IPCA. A mysterious paranormal is captured one day who makes her question everything she has ever known. Meanwhile, paranormals everywhere are dying from unknown causes and Evie may be the answer to everything.
This was a fun book. Evie sometimes got on my nerves because of her stereotypical teenage ways. I did love that Evie had her own personality though and wasn't one of the non-descriptive characters many authors are writing about now so that the protagonist can identify with every reader. Evie is her own self and may not identify with the reader at all but she was fun. I am definitely going to buy the second book in this series.
Author: I loved reading White's bio; she is pretty funny. She says that since she lives a very normal life it got her interested in the paranormal which resulted in Paranormalcy. She is a native to UT and married a Californian. They reside in San Diego with their two children. You can read more about the author here.
