Genre: Children's Fiction/Chapter Book

Synopsis: (from Goodreads) As my friends and I walk to the bus stop, we do lots of things to make the walk more fun. We have snowball fights in the winter. We throw acorns at the squirrels. We sing songs. We race to the stop sign. And we tell stories. Lots of stories.

I've heard so many stories on that walk to the bus stop, and so many more just waiting for the bus when we get there early that I bet I could write a book about it and pass along all the stories to you. So that's what I'm doing.

The stories here are some of my very best favorites. They include:

A Visit from Nonna Esmeralda
My English Teacher Is a Secret Agent
The Mysterious Window
My Summer Vacation - What a Ride!
The Great Tooth Caper
My New Alien Friend
The Jelly Bean
Ten Wriggling Worms
The Blanket of Dreams
Globlins in the Garden

My Thoughts: Don't you hate walking into the children's book section of the library and feeling completely overwhelmed by the amazingly large selection there is? That's how I feel. I always end up walking out of the library with a huge bag of books heaved on my shoulder that causes me to walk sideways while holding the hands of my 6 year old and 4 year old so they don't run out into the street. Then, I never know which ones the kids are going to enjoy and which ones I get to tote everywhere for no reason. That's why I love receiving children's books to review. It takes out the overwhelming, "what do I choose?" part. Yay!! So, I was even more thrilled when I started reading this book and discovered that it was such a treasure. These short stories were so fun to read. My children enjoyed them as well. ;) They were short enough and entertaining enough to even keep my four year old interested. They were told from a child's perspective (which is pretty obvious in the synopsis) and I loved reading it that way. So much fun and ended up being very amusing to me. This would be great for elementary aged children. We, as a family, loved it! There were very few typos and was well written.

Author: (from Amazon) Angela Giroux was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a mother of two elementary school children, for years she told fantastic stories to her kids at bedtime. Now she is taking those story ideas and creating books for kids of all ages, so everyone can enjoy the crazy, whimsical worlds that she has created!
